A Glacē™ facial is a non-invasive hydrodermabrasion treatment that exfoliates the skin’s surface while infusing hydrating serums in the same step. It brightens, smooths, and hydrates skin with no downtime, and results build with regular sessions.

Maybe you have a wedding or big presentation on the calendar. Maybe you want your skin to look its best between other treatments. At Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center in Houston, TX, a Glacē facial delivers a visible glow in one visit. There is no peeling, redness, or downtime. Its deep-cleansing step also helps clear the clogged pores and extra oil that Houston’s humidity tends to bring. Our Licensed Medical Aesthetician assesses your skin first, then tailors every step to your skin type, tone, and goals.

What Is a Glacē Facial?

Woman touching the side of her face

Glacē is a professional facial system made by Candela, a company known for laser and energy-based skin technology. It is a type of hydrodermabrasion, which pairs gentle exfoliation with serum infusion. As dead skin cells are lifted away, serums reach the fresh skin underneath.

That pairing is what makes the serums work harder. In a randomized study, serum delivered through hydrodermabrasion improved skin thickness and antioxidant levels. Applied by hand, the same serum made no measurable difference.

Glacē is a cosmetic treatment that improves how your skin looks and feels. It is not designed to treat medical skin conditions, which our Board-Certified dermatologists address with their own treatment plans.

How Does Glacē Hydrodermabrasion Work?

Each Glacē session moves through four steps in one appointment:

  1. Exfoliation and extraction: A single-use diamond tip gently lifts away dead cells and clears clogged pores as a cleansing serum flows over your skin.
  2. Serum infusion: A second serum hydrates, nourishes, and brightens the fresh skin underneath.
  3. Cupping massage: Gentle suction massages both sides of your face at once to encourage circulation.
  4. Calming finish: A soothing final phase, which can include LED light, cools and calms your skin.

Treatment can include your neck and décolletage as well as your face.

What Can a Glacē Facial Improve?

Glacē works on the surface of your skin, where many everyday concerns live. Patients often come to us about:

If your main concern is acne, melasma, rosacea, or scarring, your Board-Certified dermatologist will recommend a medical treatment plan. Glacē can still support your skin between those treatments.

Glacē suits many adults across a wide range of skin types and tones. You may be a good fit if you:

We may recommend waiting if you have:

Your aesthetician reviews your skin and health history before treatment to make these decisions with you.

How Should I Prepare for My Glacē Facial?

A few simple steps help your skin respond well:

What Happens During a Glacē Treatment?

A Glacē session lasts 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your protocol and whether your neck and décolletage are included. Your aesthetician first reviews your skin, then chooses the tip, suction level, and serums for you.

No numbing is needed. Many patients find the cool serums and gentle suction relaxing.

Recovery & Results After Glacē

Your skin looks brighter and feels smoother right away. There is no peeling or shedding phase, so you can apply makeup and return to your day. The cupping massage can also leave your face looking less puffy for a short time.

For the first few days after treatment:

Our team can recommend a home routine from our medical-grade skincare lines to protect and extend your results. Results are temporary and fade as your skin renews itself, which is why regular sessions matter. Individual results vary.

How Often Should I Get a Glacē Facial?

Glacē works best as maintenance rather than a one-time fix. Many patients return every two to four weeks, and we adjust that schedule to your skin and goals.

It also pairs well with other treatments. Many patients use Glacē to prepare their skin before, or maintain it between, procedures such as UltraClear™ and Fraxel Re:store®. Others schedule it around their BOTOX® appointments. Your provider plans the timing, since some combinations work best a few days apart.

Why Choose Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center for Your Glacē Facial?

Your Glacē facial is performed by Martina Goudeau, LMA, CLHRP, LSO, RMA, our Licensed Medical Aesthetician. Martina brings over two decades of experience in dermatology and advanced skin care. She tailors every treatment to the person in her chair.

Because Glacē takes place inside a dermatology practice, your facial comes with a medical perspective. If Martina notices a spot or rash, our Board-Certified dermatologists can evaluate it in the same office.

You also get honest guidance. We recommend Glacē when it fits your goals, and we tell you when another treatment would serve you better. Your facials are coordinated with any laser, injectable, or skincare plan you have with us, so every treatment works together.

What Else Do Patients Ask About Glacē?

How much does a Glacē facial cost?

Cost depends on your protocol and whether we treat your neck and décolletage along with your face. Because Glacē works best as a series, we also review what an ongoing schedule looks like. You will know your fees before any treatment begins.

How is Glacē different from microdermabrasion?

Traditional microdermabrasion exfoliates dry skin. Glacē exfoliates while serums flow across your skin, so cleansing and hydration happen in the same step. It also adds a cupping massage and calming finish that standard microdermabrasion does not include.

Will a Glacē facial give me glass skin?

Glass skin is a Korean beauty term for a smooth, clear, luminous complexion. It describes a look rather than a medical result. Candela designed Glacē with that look in mind and can leave skin dewy and even-toned. The effect is temporary, and regular sessions with good home care help maintain it.

Is Glacē the same as Glacial Rx?

No. The names sound alike, but the treatments work differently. Glacial Rx uses precise cooling to target brown spots and calm redness, often after laser treatments. Glacē is a hydrodermabrasion facial focused on cleansing, exfoliation, and hydration.

Is Glacē safe for darker skin tones?

Yes. Glacē does not use laser energy, and your aesthetician adjusts exfoliation strength and serums to your skin. Our team treats patients of every skin tone and offers dedicated ethnic skin care expertise.

When should I get a Glacē facial before a wedding or event?

Because Glacē has no downtime, a session a few days before your event leaves skin looking fresh and calm. If you want to build results with a series, start several weeks ahead. Brides and wedding parties can also plan treatments through our wedding services.
