Approximately 20% of Americans with tattoos regret their decision. Many of our patients here at the Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center express concern over their ability to get a job or earn a promotion due to tattoos from their past. With the PicoWay laser treatment, tattoo removal is now more effective, and can be achieved in fewer treatments than with traditional lasers. PicoWay is also effective for the removal of benign pigmented lesions such as age spots. Our experienced dermatologists can talk with you about your goals and help you determine if this treatment is best for your needs.

How it Works

The PicoWay laser’s pulse width is 100 times shorter than that of a traditional laser. This allows the laser to break up tattoo ink much more effectively, allowing it to be easily eliminated from the body naturally. Rather than utilizing photothermal action (application of heat), like most traditional nanosecond lasers, the PicoWay pulses in trillionths of a second, shattering the pigmented area without causing damage to any surrounding skin and tissue.

Compared to other tattoo removal methods, PicoWay often provides more successful results in less time. Fewer treatments are required, and more of the affected area is generally able to be removed. Even the most stubborn inks can be eliminated more successfully with this method, without tissue damage and scarring.
